Deborah Bertlesman. Deborah is an ELA teacher at Olmsted High School. She has worked with Buffalo State English teacher candidates for many years, serving as a mentor teacher and opening her classroom for observations. Deb has been a guest speaker on campus and has worked as an adjunct instructor in the English education program. Deb is an officer for the Western New York Network of English Teachers, and served as president for several years. She has presented nationally at NCTE and is working on completing her doctorate in English education at the University at Buffalo. Her instruction focuses on inquiry-based, anti-racist approaches to teaching the English Language Arts.
